What is Kilnformed Glass? |
|
Kilnformed glass is glass that is fired (heat-processed) in a kiln at temperatures ranging from 1100-1500 degrees Fahrenheit. Different melting properties of the glass occur at different temperature levels. Layering (or stacking) sheets of glass and applying heat are used to create patterns, designs, and images. Kilnformed glass is processed through multiple heating and cooling stages ranging from 10-12 hours each.
